New Children’s Activities at Music on the Mountain
Music on the Mountain offers a unique opportunity to retreat from the stresses of everyday life and escape to the mountains for a weekend of music and fellowship. It is a chance to remind ourselves of the joy to be found in making music for its own sake.
In 2025, we are excited to now offer activities for children during rehearsal times. While youth are invited (and encouraged) to sign up for the choir and the band, we recognize that our littlest friends also need an opportunity to make music! For young parents, please bring the entire family. We will watch the little ones, while you take time to make music with the band or choir.
The Moravian Music Foundation exists today because Moravians have passed down the joy of music through the generations for over 300 years. On February 21-23, let’s fill the halls of Laurel Ridge with the sounds of our music and the laughter and love of generations coming together!
Kyle Johnston, Leader
Experience Moravian music in a new (old) way! The 18th & 19th Centuries were the era of the American Tunebook, each tradition being unique in its own way. During this time Peter Wolle published the first American-Moravian tunebook in Bethlehem, PA, following tunebook conventions for the time. In this workshop, we’ll use modern tunebook practices to learn and sing these Moravian tunes in a way they’ve never been heard before!
