While attending Campbell University for Music Education, he performed in nearly every available ensemble. Since graduating in 2012, he has used his expertise in a variety of different ways, including conducting musicals at Harnett Regional Theater, singing in numerous community choirs, and being a leader in worship ministries for several churches. He has also led workshops at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC, traveled and performed internationally with groups in Ireland, Germany, Puerto Rico, and Portugal, and was the lead organizer for the Annual North Carolina Shape Note Convention until its hiatus in 2020. Most recently Kyle was the Lead Interpreter at the Single Brother’s House with Old Salem Museums & Gardens, where he could often be found playing the historic 1798 Tannenberg Organ.
Kyle is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Library Science at North Carolina Central University.
Kyle specializes in early American hymnody, and is excited to join the Moravian Music Foundation in Bethlehem, PA to share his passion for music, love of hymns, and share the profound impact that Moravians have had in the growth and proliferation of such music. He looks forward to building relationships in the Northern Province.
