Discussed the life of Joseph Aloys Schmittbaur (1718-1809), the context of his life in Germany, creation of a thematic catalog of his flute quartets and music copyist Johannes Reuz in Salem. Discussed editing and making a performance edition of Schmittbaur’s Flute Quartet, op. 1, no. 3. This is the only known copy of this work.
