Darla Earnest, M.A., has worked in Germany and the United States as an adjunct professor of voice and music (Hochschule für Musik und Theater-Munich, Germany; University of South Dakota and University of Mobile), Director of Musical Theater (Musikschule-Rosenheim, Germany), Director of various youth music groups in both US and Germany, professional opera and musical theater singer in both US and Germany, Soprano in the “Voices of Liberty” at Epcot (Walt Disney World), Assistant Curator in the National Music Museum (University of South Dakota), and as the Co-Founder of the International Performing Arts Institute in Kiefersfelden, Germany.
Some of her more interesting musical memories were overseeing the cataloging of nearly 600 zithers, singing a concert in an Austrian castle, participating in an Indonesian Gamelan ensemble, and participating in a West African drumming.
Darla Earnest’s love for God, people, and music has only grown stronger over the years and has converged in her role as Director of Development and Community Relations for the Moravian Music Foundation in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Darla and her two children have found a true home in the Moravian faith and musical community of North Carolina.
Darla Earnest holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida as well as a Master of Arts degree in Ethnomusicology from Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.
