The national and international award-winning Smithills Senior Brass Band (from Smithills School: a Specialist Arts College – Bolton, England) will tour North Carolina and thrill audiences with their youthful energy, technical skill, and musical maturity. They are led by Chris Wormald.
Moravians will host the Smithills Band at Raleigh Moravian Church, on Thursday, July 17 at 7pm;
and at Home Moravian Church (W-S) on Sunday, July 20 at 7pm.
Concerts are free, with donations accepted.
2014 will be their fifth USA concert tour in fourteen years. This latest Smithills trans-Atlantic visit will last from Tuesday July 15th through to Saturday July 26th and will feature no less than eight Smithills concerts. In our area, they will also perform at St. Mary’s Episcopal in High Point, Main St. United Methodist Church in Kernersville, and the Thomasville ball park. Among many sightseeing experiences scheduled to take place on this latest Smithills band tour will be the Capitol Building in Raleigh, state of the art interactive museums, Lake Lure, NC Zoological Park, Sliding Rock, and Chimney Rock.
